Kia ora koutou,
The Year 7 and 8s from local schools enjoyed listening to senior students from nearby high schools talk about transitioning to high school.
It’s lovely to be back at Omihi School again, even if it’s only for a very short time (last week and this week) while Maree is on leave. It’s been great to catch up with everyone again - students, staff and parents - some familiar faces and some new ones.
We congratulate our Cross Country runners - Michael, Theo, Fergus, Arlo, Alex, Harry and Jack for their efforts at the Kowai Cross Country last Tuesday. Special congratulations go to Michael (3rd Yr 7 Boys), Alex (1st Yr 5 Boys), Harry (3rd Yr 5 Boys) and Jack (6th Yr 4 Boys). Michael, Alex and Harry will now represent the Kowai Schools at the Canterbury Cross Country later this month. A superb effort by all our runners.
On Thursday last week our Year 7 & 8 students were fortunate to participate in a Hurunui Youth Event along with students from Greta Valley, Waikari and Waipara Schools. They had an enjoyable day of fun activities and speakers.
Some comments about the day from the students who attended:
“We really enjoyed the games, they were fun.”
“The speakers were interesting.”
“We liked hearing from the high school students.”
The people leading the day were very complimentary about the engagement and politeness of our students - a very successful day for all involved.
