Certificated Kaiako 

Position commencing Monday 12th October 2026, or by negotiation for term 1, 2027. 

Areas: English, Health and Physical Education, Learning Languages, Mathematics and Statistics, Science, Social Sciences, Technology, Te Reo Māori, The Arts.

Suitable for beginning teachers.

Omihi School is a primary school from year 1-8 situated in the beautiful North Canterbury, 15 minutes north of Amberley. We have a roll of 41 students and are looking for someone to join our ‘One Big Whānau’. 

We are seeking a kaiako to join our dedicated and talented team. Our staff have strong relationships with our tamariki and hold high expectations of themselves and their students. Our teachers are committed to being culturally responsive and make this a priority within their professional growth. 

A sound knowledge of all curriculum areas is essential, in particular mathematics and literacy. 

Of benefit are experience, interest or strengths in the following areas;

• PE/Sports
